These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of the Character Compass hiring platform. By using the platform you agree to these terms. This page is written in plain language and is not legal advice.

Platform use

Character Compass provides software tools that help employers manage hiring and help candidates apply for roles. We provide the platform on an "as is" basis.

Employer responsibilities

  • Ensure job postings and recruitment practices comply with applicable laws.
  • Make fair, lawful and non-discriminatory hiring decisions.
  • Comply with all wage, work-rights and trial-shift requirements that apply in your jurisdiction.
  • Keep candidate information confidential and use it only for hiring purposes.

Candidate responsibilities

  • Provide accurate information in applications and interviews.
  • Use the platform respectfully and lawfully.

No guarantee of employment or suitability

Character Compass does not guarantee that any candidate will be offered employment, or that any candidate is suitable for a role. Final hiring decisions are made by the employer.

Trial shifts

Employers remain solely responsible for ensuring trial shifts they run comply with all applicable employment laws, including any payment requirements. Character Compass does not advise on whether a particular trial shift is lawful in your jurisdiction.

AI outputs

Any AI-generated summaries, scores or suggestions are advisory only. Employers are responsible for reviewing and validating any AI output before relying on it.

Acceptable use

  • Do not misuse the platform, attempt to bypass security, or scrape data.
  • Do not upload unlawful, misleading or infringing content.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Character Compass is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform. Nothing in these terms limits any non-excludable rights you have under consumer or employment law.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the platform after changes are posted means you accept the updated terms.
